
Emergency Scuba Medic
The Emergency Scuba Medic (ESM) course is a three day emergency medicine course specifically catering for recreational divers and dive leaders / instructors who may find themselves working or diving in remote locations.What Does The Course Include?
Clinical ‘moulage’ simulations are a core part of our ESM course. These give divers practical experience in regular realistic scenarios.-
The course includes certifications in:
- HSE Emergency First Aid
- Oxygen Administration
- AED Operation
- PADI Chamber Awareness
Subjects Covered:
- Advanced airway management and oxygen administration
- Respiratory and cardiac arrest. Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use
- Wound management and wound closure techniques
- Haemorrhage control including use of the CAT tourniquet
- Care and transport of the critically ill
- Diving incident management including triage
- Vascular access and intravenous infusion
- Marine envenomation and hazards
- Decompression Illness theory and management
